SSL / TLS encryption of your shop

SSL (also known as TLS) is the abbreviation for Secure Sockets Layer and refers to an encryption method on the Internet. SSL encryption ensures that data exchanged between the user's browser and a server cannot be read by third parties. With SSL, data transmitted on the Internet is therefore protected from the access of others.

When shopping online, sensitive data such as credit card numbers are transmitted between browser and server. That is why it is particularly important here that SSL encryption is available.

SSL encryption brings several other benefits. For example, many Internet users today pay attention to whether a website offers encryption or not. Furthermore, SSL encryption is a ranking signal for Google and can have a positive effect on the search engine optimization of your shop.

What do I need to know about the SSL encryption of my shop?

You do not have to worry about SSL encryption in your shop. The sub-pages of your shop - the order process and all other sub-pages - are SSL-encrypted by default. This is also indicated by the fact that the address of all subpages of your shop starts with https:// and not with http://.
